Background
Lithuanian SMBs consistently miss out on EU and government grants because finding relevant funding requires hours of manual research across multiple portals — in Lithuanian. Most business owners don't know where to start. Zyndix identified this gap and built Fonderis: an AI-powered grant intelligence platform that automates the entire discovery and matching process.
What Was Built
Fonderis is a full-stack SaaS product built from scratch by Zyndix, live at fonderis.com. The platform crawls 4 grant sources — including inovacijuagentura.lt, esinvesticijos.lt, europoshorizontas.lt, and the EU Funding & Tenders Portal — using Apify headless browser scrapers running on automated weekly GitHub Actions pipelines.
Each grant page is processed by GPT-4o-mini, which extracts 17+ structured fields per grant: title, deadline, budget, eligible sectors, regions, applicant types, employee requirements, and more. A strict anti-hallucination prompt ensures only explicitly stated information is captured.
The core of the matching engine is a vector search system. Every grant is converted into a 1,536-dimensional semantic embedding using OpenAI's text-embedding-3-small model and stored in Supabase with the pgvector extension. When a company submits their profile, their description is embedded in the same vector space, and a cosine similarity search returns the top 10 most relevant grants in under 100ms.
Those 10 candidates are then passed to Claude Sonnet 4, which scores each grant on eligibility (50%), relevance (30%), and feasibility (20%) — with hard disqualifiers for region mismatches and unmet requirements. The full result set is translated on the fly to the user's language via DeepL API.
